Local tattoo artist shares hope through her generous donation

Melissa Waldeck, Verwoerd Park resident, joined others in lending a helping to Kasie Outreach on October 15.

She donated pre-loved clothes to the faith-based community outreach that has been working towards making a difference in the community.

These, together with many other donations, will be offered to needy families in the City of Ekurhuleni’s informal settlements. Waldeck said the women and children’s clothing were donated to her by family and friends who entrusted her to hand them over to relevant charities.

“I know there are families who cannot afford these basic needs. My family and I always relied on the charity of others and it made getting through the month easier. I hope these donations add a bit of hope as it did for me when I was growing up,” she said.

She also said she finds women and children close to her heart as she too was raised by a loving single mother.
Morongoe Dikgale of Kasie Outreach said: “We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the donation received. Her support and generosity will directly benefit people who are in need and immediately make a positive difference in their lives.”
