Pick n Pay’s division Eden Park Market was thrilled to bring together Eden Park schools to compete in the Jerusalema dance challenge on September 24.
This was inspired by President Cyril Ramaphosa’s commendation to have citizens take part in the dance challenge on Heritage Day.
The dance challenge has made rounds and has taken social media by storm, with many having to choreograph their own moves from the famous song Jerusalema.
On the day, multitudes gathered in support of Opelweg Primary, Stoneridge Primary and Edenpark Primary schools as they took to the stage. The teams from different schools were judged based on team work and their stunning moves. Opelweg came out victorious.
According to Marilyn Muziro franchisee of Pick n Pay’s division, this was mainly aimed at bringing the community together.
“We thought we could also join in on this trending dance challenge and bring hope after the pandemic brought us down. This was a team spirit thing and we thank the community for going all out in making this a success occasion a success,” said Muziro.
Muziro handed over food vouchers to the three schools and also sponsored a local developing football team.
