Ward 106 councillor donates masks to Teddy Bear Foundation

The masks are said to go a long way in ensuring children are protected from the coronavirus.

Ward 106 councillor alderman Bruna Haipel and Tim Denny donated masks to the Teddy Bear Foundation on August 22.

The masks are said to go a long way in ensuring children are protected from the coronavirus.

The Teddy Bear Foundation assists abused children by accompanying them step-by-step on their journey to healing. Dalene Bishop of the foundation thanked them for the support and told the RECORD the donations will make a huge difference in the children’s lives.

“Investing in the healing of an abused child is one of the most rewarding investments where a child who has suffered trauma is able to develop to their full potential. By supporting a child on this journey to healing there is great opportunity for hope,” she said.

She said since the pandemic started to worsen in the country, they have been hard at work.

“Since the beginning of Covid-19 we at the Teddy Bear Foundation have seen more than 585 victims of abuse. This figure accounts for some of the cases that have been brought to our attention and is not an accurate reflection of the many victims out there,” said Bishop.

She appealed to the community for assistance in their journey of making a difference with any forms of donations. Contact Dalene Bishop on 011 484 4554 or 083 469 9196.
