Special ops results in successful arrest for possession of drugs

These joint ops increase the security presence in the area and send a strong message to the community that lawlessness will not be tolerated.

On August 11, Fidelity’s Specialist Intervention Unit (SIU ), Brackendowns CPF and SAPS conducted a joint operation in the Brackendowns SAPS precinct.

One of the SIU vehicles spotted a red Audi parked suspiciously in the road. The officers called for backup. When backup arrived the Audi started driving away.

The vehicle was stopped and searched and a half a kilogram bag of marijuana was found hidden behind the CD shuttle. The suspect was arrested.

“These joint ops increase the security presence in the area and send a strong message to the community that lawlessness will not be tolerated,” said Linda Goodenough, Fidelity ADT’s community development manager.
