Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High School teacher tests positive for covid-19

The Department of Health advised the school to close on June 12 to be sanitized and deep cleansed again.

A teacher from Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High School recently tested positive for Covid-19 and has been placed under quarantine.

“The learners who were taught by the teacher are not at risk as all the Covid-19 precautions were followed,” said principal, Martie Heystek.

“The school will be safe to reopen on Monday, June 15. All safety measures were in place and the closure of the school is only  precautionary steps as guided by the Department of Health.”

According to the principal, everything is under control and parents should not be worried.

“We are working together with the Department of Health and the GDE. Just like before we will go out of our way to create a safe and virus-free environment for our learners,” said Heystek.
