The area will be one of the special sites in Gauteng that will be used as a facility for both quarantining and isolating Covid-19 cases in the province.
Gauteng remains the epicentre of Covid-19 in South Africa.
Gauteng health department has set up various special sites that will help ease the pressure from health facilities and accommodate those who cannot self-isolate or quarantine at home.
Nasrec has a bed capacity of 2 250, the first phase of the project will be completed at the end of next week, and will be ready to accommodate 500 cases should the need arise.
