The state of an electricity transformer on the corner of Ifafa and Illovo streets in Brackendowns has left a concerned resident worried.

Steven Coetzer, who has been a Brackendowns resident for about 23 years now, complained about the state of the transformer which he described as negligence.

“I’m not sure if this is just poor workmanship, an illegal connection or both. There are children that play in the street including my grandchildren and this is clearly an accident waiting to happen,” he said.

The transformer is left open with wires exposed, which he considered as a health risk since people could be easily electrocuted.

The RECORD has contacted the City and no response has been provided to date regarding the matter.
