Mall of the South to be on lockdown

Mall of the South will be on lockdown at midnight from Thursday, March 26 and this will continue for 21 days.

This is in light of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s instructions regarding the national lockdown which is aimed at curbing the spread of Coronavirus.

Krystal Coconas, marketing and communications manager at Mall of the South, said there are stores that will be operating during this time.

“Essential services will be available to shoppers, which includes supermarkets, pharmacies, banks and veterinarian outlets.

“Mall of the South wishes shoppers, staff and tenants to be safe during the lockdown period, and as centre manager Hester Smith said, “Together, we will get through this.”

Essential services that will be trading during the lockdown period include Checkers, Game (TBC), Pick n Pay and Woolworths, Clicks and Dis-Chem.

These also include ABSA, Capitec, FNB, Nedbank, Standard Bank, Fournos Bakery and Absolute Pets.

“Gate one by Aspen Hills will be open during the lockdown period, however, gate two by Swartkoppies side will be closed. Entrance five will also be open as it is near a store.

“Security will be at the entrances with hand sanitisers and entrance two will be open for taxi commuters and staff only,” said Coconas.

Shoppers are urged to use gate one to gain access to parking levels one and two.
