GALLERY: Our communities in lockdown

We are entering uncertain and trying times, times which will have our emotions in ups and downs.

On Monday night, we sat down as a family to watch our President’s announcement, and although we all expected what was coming, the announcement still left some kind of aftershock.

Not only was I thinking about not seeing my daughter for 21 days as she drove off after we said our goodbyes, but I also thought about how I would not be able to get to her should she need me – how will I then comfort her?

And these must be the thoughts of many of our communities.

We are entering uncertain and trying times, times which will have our emotions in ups and downs.

However, with that being said, we must also remember that our law enforcers will be experiencing the same thoughts, emotions and will have the same questions. Fact is – we are all in the same boat and we will have to ride this thing out in unity.

Don’t push the boundaries and directives set in place and nobody will push back at you.

We ask our communities to please stay put, stay at home and unite against Covid-19 and flattening the curve the way we always unite when our communities come together for those in need.

Lockdown will not be easy, but we are still a community and in these trying times we have to look to the future when we will again be able to live life as a community.

We will be here for you, sharing important news and changes on our social networks as it happens.

We will still bring your newspaper to your doorstep, keeping you in touch with your community amid these trying times.

Should you wish to communicate with us during this time and share your stories, please feel free to pop us an email at cvdwalt@caxton.co.za

With all of this said, we as much as our readers and advertisers look forward to again be free to visit and chat to our community on a face-to-face basis. In the meantime, let’s look back at the good times and look forward to better times ahead.

May you all be blessed in these times – stay safe. We wish you all good health.
