Animals in distress during lockdown

Alberton SPCA services will be available for emergencies during lockdown.

The Alberton SPCA will be operational during lockdown, but only for emergencies and cruelty investigations.

According to SPCA manager, Nadia Saunderson, they will still accept lost and stray animals and they can be visited in cases of extreme emergency.

“It is, however, important to note that strict conditions will apply and the SPCA will not just let anybody onto the premises,” she said.

“Should you find a lost or stray pet, you can bring it into the SPCA or contact them to come and collect – again, strict measures will apply.

“In case that your pet goes missing during lockdown, you can forward a WhatsApp message which must include a photograph of your pet to 071 626 0721. In the event that the missing pet is delivered to the SPCA they will contact the owners.”
