Brackenhurst Primary School prepares for coronavirus

Teachers are tirelessly raising awareness at the school about the virus and have put up educational charts for learners.

Following the spread of the deadly Covid-19, famously known as coronavirus, Brackenhurst Primary School is prepared for the virus.

Teachers are tirelessly raising awareness at the school about the virus and have put up educational charts for learners.

They are currently drafting policies and procedures to combat and prevent the contraction and spread of the virus. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) and local government bodies, the school has taken the following precautions:

• Children who feel ill with cough, fever and hard-to-breathe symptoms are to be quarantined.

• Parents and family members are advised to constantly keep their hands clean and germ free. Family members are also advised to avoid touching their face, nose and mouth.

• Do not share utensils, towels, etc.

• Teachers will inform learners on the avoidance of physical contact and parents are encouraged to do the same.

• Learners are advised to carry a small bottle of hand sanitiser with them.
