SABC High School Career Expo to inform learners

Excitement builds for the national High School Career Expo, in association with SABC Education.

The SABC High School Career Expo will be at The Glen Shopping Centre from July 24 to 25 from 9am to 5pm every day.

South Africa’s favourite careers exhibition is designed to provide learners in primary and high school with opportunities and guidance for choosing a high school and selecting their subjects.

For the older teenagers in attendance, the High School Career Expo is also designed to assist and equip the youth with the necessary tools to succeed in high school, tertiary education and beyond.

“The High School Career Expo targets thousands of young individuals from all walks of life, as well as their parents, education institutions, private sector businesses and even government officials.

“We are excited to be rolling the expo out all over of the country and thank SABC Education for their involvement,” said Heidi from the High School Career Expo.

She added: “All primary and high school children and parents can learn more about the public and private high schools, including special programmes, extracurricular activities and admissions criteria. You can find out which high school is most suitable for your child’s future.”

Prospective students will be able to meet with representatives from a wide range of universities, technikons, colleges and other tertiary institutions.

They will also gain insight and career advice from leading field specialists to better understand the expectations and roles of their potential professions.

The Student Expo aims to feed students with valuable knowledge to make educated decisions regarding their future through discussions and presentations. Students can also learn how to secure student loans and bursaries.

They will get advice on how to manage finances when living away from home, should they take a gap year or not, as well as share information with other school-leavers and parents.

High School Career Expo will be hosting live talks and interactive programmes, well known for inspiring tens of thousands of learners each year.

The events run over two days and are free to attend. Stay in touch via the website and social media channels, and don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to get a head start on your future in 2020.
