With the intention of tackling service delivery issues, ward 38 councillor Malcolm Maifala invites community members to attend open-door Wednesdays.

This is part of ensuring that the councillor and his committee are freely available to the community.

Through these visits, residents can be part of the decisions the ward committee and the councillor make on their behalf.

It enables residents to gain an understanding of the work done to try and improve service delivery in the ward.

Open-door Wednesdays allow the councillor to tackle issues that affect residents and deal with them in depth.

According to Maifala, these visits are an opportunity for residents to have a convenient face-to-face meeting with him.

No appointment is needed and issues already raised through such meetings are potholes and account queries.

Every Wednesday is an open-door day for residents to meet with the councillor from 8am to 5pm at Alberton Civic Centre.
