Dog shot dead after attacking two women in Brackendowns

“The two victims both sustained serious injuries,” said Chantal.

Two women were brutally attacked by a mix breed pitbull dog earlier today, February 19, on Blyde Street, Brackendows.

A woman heard a domestic worker shouting for help while being attacked by the dog.

She then tried to help, but the dog then started attacking her.

The dog eventually had to be shot dead after numerous people attempted to stop the dog from biting the women but failed.

According to Chantal Peel, a paramedic from National Paramedical Services, they were called out to assist, but when they got there, they could not enter the premises due to the dog being uncontrollable.

After the dog was shot dead, paramedics entered the premises and stabilised both victims who were then taken to nearby hospitals.

“The two victims both sustained serious injuries,” said Chantal.

Fox Security, CPS Security, National Paramedical Services, SAPS, Animal Protection Network, Fourth Dimension, Alberton SPCA and other services were on the scene.
