Armed suspects rob house in General Albertspark

The bakkie was recovered in Katlehong.

Reaction and tactical units from Fox Security responded to a house robbery on Sunday, February 9, in Heide Avenue in General Albertspark.

They reacted to a distress call via a WhatsApp-group requesting assistance.

Units responded swiftly, and upon arrival, it was established that an elderly couple had been attacked in their home by three males armed with knives.

They gained entry to the house through the kitchen window where they broke the burglar bars.

The suspects stole television sets, jewellery, a safe, cell phones and a white Nissan NP200 bakkie belonging to the owner of the house.

The couple sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital after being treated by paramedics from National Paramedical Services.

After further investigation, a location was received through one of the stolen cell phones, and officers proceeded to the area.

During a patrol of the area, the officers found the bakkie in Katlehong.

“We urge the community to be extra vigilant. Report any suspicious activity to our control room on

011 867 3770,” said Elowayne Gouws, operations manager from Fox Security.

A case was opened at the Alberton SAPS.
