WATCH: Shots fired, man robbed R50k at Netcare Clinton Hospital’s parking lot

An armed robbery occurred this afternoon, January 24, at Netcare Clinton Hospital’s parking lot.

According to Tyrone van de Merwe from CPS Security, the victim was followed from a bank at New Market Mall and was held up in the Netcare Clinton Hospital’s parking lot and robbed of R50, 000 by two armed suspects.

WATCH:

Elowayne Gouws, from Fox Security, also told the RECORD that three shots were fired by the suspects and one firearm was recovered on the scene.

This is the suspect’s getaway vehicle which was involved in an armed robbery.

CPS Security shared the following safety tips when withdrawing money:

• Avoid going into banks with bags which show you are collecting cash

• Ask your local security company for an armed escort

• Be alert of your surroundings

• Do not create a routine

• Keep a car length space at traffic lights in case you need to evade

• Don’t let people, such as employees, know you are dealing with cash

• Be vigilant when arriving at your destination as this is when robbery is most likely to happen.
