Losing weight in aid of Stepping Stone Hospice

Friend and foe are asked to support in pledging a minimum of R10 per kilogram lost, funds that will be donated to Stepping Stone Hospice.

Losing weight in aid of Stepping Stone Hospice!

That’s certainly a first and a very brave and commendable gesture from Reading Country Club golfer Brian Johnston.

The 50-year old Johnston, clocking in at 125.7kg, has decided to take up the challenge of getting his weight back to 100kg.

He is also challenging friend and foe to pledge a minimum of R10 per kilogram lost, funds that will be donated to Stepping Stone Hospice.

With the help from Hospice’s marketing and fund-raising manager, Marietjie Tame, Johnston is adamant to not only shed the extra 25.7kg in eight months from now, but to develop a healthier lifestyle, something he believes has now become a priority for him.

“My health is at a huge disadvantage because of my weight and it’s time that I do something about it.”

To keep him accountable, a “public” weigh-in took place at Reading Country Club on January 11 and going forward, Brian will be weighed every month and he will give feedback to his “supporters“ on his progress (or lack thereof).

If you would like to support Brian in pledging a sponsored amount, kindly email your details to Tame at marietjie@steppingstonehospice.co.za.
