Stepping Stone Hospice presents course on palliative care
The course covered topics such as principles of palliative care, palliative care and ethics, end-of-life decision-making as well as loss, grief and bereavement.
Stepping Stone Hospice recently hosted a five-day Introduction to Palliative Care course and eight candidates successfully completed the programme.
Palliative care has been introduced into the national health-care system and more and more people, whether in their workplace or because of personal circumstances, now want to learn the skills of providing palliative care.
The course covered topics such as principles of palliative care, palliative care and ethics, end-of-life decision-making as well as loss, grief and bereavement.
Representatives from Discovery Health’s Advanced Illness Benefit department, as well as representatives from the Känguru Institute for the Disabled, were among the successful candidates.
