GAUTENG Premier David Makhura has called a meeting with all the Gauteng mayors to strengthen intergovernmental relations and cooperative governance on November 1 at Alberton Civic Centre.

The meeting will discuss the province’s plan, Growing Gauteng Together, which was announced by the Premier during the State of the Province Address in July. Members of the Executive Council (MECs) have since then engaged in extensive consultations with various stakeholders around the plan.

Discussions will also focus on the district-based coordination model which is aimed at addressing service delivery and economic development challenges through the operation of planning across all spheres of government.
