Eden Park man arrested for allegedly raping a family dog

Earlier today the Alberton SPCA Inspectorate secured the arrest of a man suspected of raping a family dog.

An Eden Park man was arrested for bestiality on September 27.

Earlier today the Alberton SPCA Inspectorate secured the arrest of a man suspected of raping a family dog.

After investigating a complaint lodged on September 26, Inspector Shiven Bodasing being assisted by SPCA staffer Wrolien Rabie gathered vital evidence and took the victim to a veterinarian for an examination and to gather DNA samples.
A criminal case docket was opened this morning after the Inspectorate had traced and identified the suspect. Members of the Eden Park SAPS and Ekhuruleni flying squad arrested the suspect and he will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court.

Inspector Bodasing commented: “Animal cruelty is a crime and will be treated as such, there exists no tolerance towards intentional animal cruelty here at the Alberton SPCA. Perpetrators of crimes against animals may face a fine of R60, 000 or a period of imprisonment without the option of a fine.”
