Alberton SPCA invites community to its Book Sale

The Alberton SPCA seeks volunteers to offer their services to the SPCA and invites Albertonians to come through for their book sale.

IN a fund-raising effort, the SPCA invites all book lovers to their book sale on September 28 at Bracken City.

The book sale, which will consist of a wide range of books for book lovers to choose from, will begin at 9am onwards.

Book lovers will have a great deal of choice from second-hand books to choose from to be purchased at affordable prices.

The community is invited to come in their numbers to support the Alberton SPCA’s book sale.

Volunteers needed

The Alberton SPCA seeks volunteers to offer their services to walk the dogs. Despite being part of many schools’ curriculum, learners are given an opportunity to volunteer during weekends. The SPCA currently has seven volunteers who are responsible for sorting of donations and other areas at the clinic.

Robbie Jones, a volunteer at the SPCA, commented: “We would like to have more volunteers to come and help us, this is a charitable thing. Volunteers may offer their time with us when they have time. We also ask the community to help with any donations they might have to help donate to the SPCA. Some of these donated items are marked and sold at our charity shop.”
