Brackendowns SAPS: Do not leave valuables unattended in your car

Either take the valuables with you when going into stores or preferably leave them at home, says SAPS.

BRACKENDOWNS SAPS would like to alert the community of the dangers of leaving valuables unattended and in plain sight in vehicles. According to SAPS they have seen an increase in the number of thefts out of motor vehicles, specifically in public areas.

Areas of concern to them include the parking at Jackson Dam and the parking lots of the various shopping centers around the area.

SAPS recommend where possible to not leave your valuables in your cars.

Either take the valuables with you when going into stores or preferably leave them at home.

In cases where this is impossible make sure that your valuables are placed out of sight in your vehicle.

According to SAPS, the break-ins into cars happen very quickly so residents should not think that they are gone for too little time for anything to happen to them.

If you experience any problems or would like to report a crime please call Brackendowns SAPS on 011 716 5600.
