ALBERTON SPCA is a few weeks away from completing its puppy kennel to create a comfortable environment for the puppies at the clinic.
The puppy kennel’s facelift will ensure more space for four separate enclosures to be built on the inside.
These improvements will ensure that each enclosure will have a heater to keep the puppies warm. There will also be a separation block to protect the vulnerable young puppies from going outside and to create a sterile environment for them to grow in.
Kingstone Siziba, general manager at SPCA, commented: “The construction company started building this kennel on Monday and the work should be done in a few weeks.
“Puppies born from one female dog will be housed in one enclosure. Through this we are trying to minimise disease; we will regulate temperature.”
