Speed Weekend event takes place at the renowned Rock Raceway

This year entries from all over the country, including the 2019 Hotrod world champion, will take on our top South African racing drivers in the Hotrod Class.

THE ever-popular annual Speed Weekend event takes place at the renowned Rock Raceway in Brakpan on August 9 and 10.

This year entries from all over the country, including the 2019 Hotrod world champion, will take on our top South African racing drivers in the Hotrod Class.

Friday racing will kick off with practice starting at 9am and qualifying at 4pm with racing starting at 5.30pm.

Friday’s action will include Maxterino Ninja Midgets, 125 Karts, Super Saloons and Formula N circuit racing.

Entry for Friday is R50 per vehicle per person with spectators up to four people in the vehicle. An extra R10 per person charged for more than four people per vehicle.

August 10 sees the newly crowned 2019 Hotrod world champion, Robert McDonald from Scotland, in action as he will be making a guest appearance in a Mazda Rotary-powered Tigra from Renegade Racing.

The Rock Raceway will host the fourth leg of the 2019 Hotrod tour.

Saturday’s proceedings will feature the following racing categories: Comer Ninja Midgets, Standard Midgets, Stockrods, 1660 Modified Saloons, 2L Hotrods and the fourth round of the National Hotrod tour.

Gates open at 8.30am with practice from 9am, qualifying at 3pm and racing starts at 5pm.

Saturday’s spectator gate entry will be charged at R100 per adult and R40 for children between the ages of six and 12.

Refreshments will be on sale on site. Bring all your family and friends and come enjoy all the high-octane action track side.
