Alberton Licensing Centre cash-free as from August 1

Only bank cards, such as debit and credit cards, will be an acceptable form of payment.

ALBERTON Licensing Centre, with two other centres, will adopt a cash-free system from August 1.

According to a statement from Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson, the disadvantages associated with handling and keeping huge amounts of cash have prompted the City of Ekurhuleni to adopt a cash-free system at its licensing centres.

The pilot project in this regard was the Kempton Park Licensing Centre, which went cash-free on April 1.

The intention is to roll-out the system to all the city’s licensing centres.

Alberton, Wadeville and Boksburg will be cash-free zones as from August 1.

Only bank cards, such as debit and credit cards, will be an acceptable form of payment.
