Senior examiner at Wadeville Licensing Station in cuffs

A 57-year-old employee of the City of Ekurhuleni at Wadeville Licensing Station was arrested and detained at the Alberton Police Station.

A SENIOR examiner of vehicles at Wadeville Licensing Station is in police custody after being found in possession of a stolen vehicle.

This follows the recovery of a stolen Toyota Quantum in Leondale by the EMPD Community Liaison Unit (CLU) in conjunction with Netstar. The Toyota Quantum minibus was stolen in February this year in Kempton Park.

On July 15 around 5pm, the EMPD CLU members received information from Netstar vehicle-tracking company members that the vehicle was parked in the yard of a house in Leondale.

Both the police and the Netstar officials descended on the given address and the vehicle was located.

The owner of the house claimed that the white Toyota Quantum belonged to his girlfriend.

The recovered vehicle was reportedly stolen from Thrifty Car Rental in Pomona, Kempton Park.

A 57-year-old employee of the City of Ekurhuleni at Wadeville Licensing Station was arrested and detained at the Alberton Police Station on a charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

The recovered vehicle was taken to Benoni SAPS Van Ryn Deep pound for further investigations and safekeeping.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.

Investigations are underway.
