ONE can make a difference with small things – even an unexpected pancake can bring a smile to another person’s face.

Alberton Methodist Church’s youth partnered with DnA in Christ for a three-day programme at Alberton Methodist Church from July 3 to 5.

The dedicated team took to the streets and during the three days they surprised the staff of Stepping Stone with pancakes and further stationed themselves outside the church where they gave away pancakes to the community.

They aimed at instilling the importance of serving the community with the little that one has.

During the three days, the community and the team shared talks which was based on your purpose in life.

According to youth pastor James Dunn, this programme is run during every school holiday and is effective in bringing together the youth.

“This was an amazing experience for all those who were involved. We are thankful for those who helped these young adults build confidence in themselves. It brought us together and our focus point was serving our community,” he said.

Anthony Hattingh of DnA in Christ commented: “Through this programme, we focused on creating ambition in the lives of those who were involved in the community outreach. We took some time to tell the people they’re special and we also had commuters passing by to grab our delicious pancakes.”
