Successful modelling showcase

The modelling showcase also served as a semi-final for the international model of the year hopefuls.

BRACKEN Park Hall was abuzz with activity when models took to the catwalk to put their best foot forward.

The Alberton Figures Finesse Modelling Social Winter Warm-Up showcase and the semi-finals for the International Model of the Year were held on June 9 with over a 100 students participating.

In the junior showcase the top best dressed outfits were judged on originality and visual impact, followed by the junior semi-finals.

Competitors competed in two categories, two to nine years and 10 to 12 years old. They were judged according to the models’ look and modelling skill on the ramp. The top nine contestants were chosen as finalists.

The senior social showcase followed a similar routine. First the social showcase and then the international semi-finals.

The M5 category included all the senior girls aged 13 years and older of all heights while the M1 category had girls aged 13 years and older who were five feet seven inches (approximately 1.7m) tall and taller.

The M7 category included all the male students between 13 to 23 years of age.

Congratulations to all the best dressed and graduating students from the social showcase and to the International Model of the Year Finalists who will compete for the title and grand prize of attending the Project AIM Cruise aboard the MSC Orchestra in March 2020.

The winner of each of the five categories will attend the Project AIM Cruise. The finals will take place at the Roodepoort Youth Theatre on June 30.
