Alberton SPCA appeals for help

“Once again, we are appealing for help, this time to build puppy kennels.”

ALBERTON SPCA is looking for help from the community to build a new puppy yard.

“The Alberton SPCA is continually striving to improve our facilities, over and above seeing to the well-being of the animals that come into our care.

“A few years ago, we started a campaign to have quarantine kennels built, which was an overwhelming success thanks to the continuous support of the community. Once again, we are appealing for help, this time to build puppy kennels,” said Jane Doo, secretary of Alberton SPCA.

Puppies coming into the SPCA need to be housed in a warm and dry environment – warm in winter and dry in summer.

“We are, therefore, looking to build a room with adequate heating. If there are any companies or members of the public who are willing to purchase building materials for us, that would be wonderful.”

Their wish list is as follows:

• bricks

• building and plastering sand

• cement

• wood for roof supports

• transparent polycarb roof sheeting

• drainage pipes

• electrical supplies

“Any donation would help and be appreciated,” said Jane. For more information or to make arrangements regarding a donation, contact them on 011 907 1568.
