WATCH: Kiddies Cake Carnival was a huge success

It's any child’s dream - to be let loose around a table that is stacked with cakes ready to be iced and decorated.

PICK n Pay in Lemon Tree Mall launched their Kiddies Cake Carnival on June 15, where children between the ages of five and 12 had the chance to decorate their very own cakes.

“This is our time to say thank you to the community and give back. In this instance to an organisation who has touched so many lives and who needs our support,” said Jason Luscos, Pick n Pay store manager.

All proceeds of this event, including the sale of raffle tickets, were donated to Stepping Stone Hospice in the form of grocery vouchers.

“It’s an absolute blessing,” said Tersia Burger, CEO of Stepping Stone Hospice.

“We are currently on a huge fund-raising drive and taking a hard look at our costs and where we can save.

“Our monthly grocery bill is in the region of R15 000. So with Pick n Pay now assisting us through their Kiddies Cake Carnival, we can save quite a bit on that bill,” she explained.
