Youth Skills Development Expo at Soweto Theatre

The expo will also focus on empowering people with disabilities and will assist in exposing them to various developmental opportunities, such as jobs, skills training and entrepreneurship.

ON June 6, the City of Johannesburg’s social development department will host a Youth Skills Development Expo at Soweto Theatre from 9am to 4.30pm.

The expo, under the theme Access to Viable Economic Opportunities in the Fouth Industrial Revolution is expected to attract close to 600 young people from all seven regions of the City of Johannesburg.

The purpose of the Youth Skills Development Expo is to share information with the youth regarding various developmental opportunities that exist in both the private and public sector. On the day the youth can expect to have interaction with various stakeholders from both private and public sector at different exhibition stalls.

The youth will also be exposed to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and how it will affect their lives and future job opportunities. Emphasis will be put on the need to adjust in order to cope with the Fourth Industrial Revolution that threatens many traditional jobs.

The expo will also focus on empowering people with disabilities and will assist in exposing them to various developmental opportunities, such as jobs, skills training and entrepreneurship.
