Meeting to vote on fibre installation in South Crest and Tulisa Park

The meeting will take place on May 24 at 6pm in the council chambers at the Alberton Civic Centre

AERIAL installation of fibre in South Crest and Tulisa Park areas has been approved and will commence to use static wooden poles and aerial lines.

According to the South Crest Neighbourhood Association, trenching was not approved for the area. Some residents are not welcoming of this, and have requested a public participation meeting and a vote to ascertain if this will continue or not.

This meeting will be held on May 24 at 6pm at the council chambers, Alberton Civic Centre.

Only residents residing in or owning property in the affected area will be allowed to participate and vote. Proof of identification and residence will need to be produced on the evening.

Please note that a yes vote will entail the installation will continue and the area will get fibre. A no vote will mean that the installation will be stopped and the area will not get fibre. Voting will commence at 7pm.

If you cannot attend the voting you may vote electronically by sending your proof of residence, ID copy and vote to southcrestfibre@gmail.com You will receive a confirmation of your vote once its been vetted.

Deadline for electronic votes will be at 8am on May 24. The result of these votes will be considered as the final mandate of the residents of the area.
