Nyaope dealer nabbed on Union Street

The suspect was found in possession of nyaope to the value of R1 200.

ACTING on a tip-off, EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members arrested a suspected drug dealer on April 25.

The tip-off led the officers to the suspect in the Alberton North informal settlement, where the 22-year-old was found in possession of nyaope valued at R1 200.

He was apprehended at 6am on Union Street with 12 packets of nyaope on his person. The suspect was detained at the Alberton Police Station and will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession and dealing in narcotics.
