Support for children, staff and parents of Glenview Primary

Seasoned principal Pieter le Roux will act as administrator at Glenview Primary School while their principal is away.

DURING a meeting at Glenview Primary School between the acting district director of education, Busi Luthuli, and parents on April 9 it was announced that Pieter le Roux would be acting as administrator for Glenview Primary during the three-month period during which principal Tommie Stoltz would be reporting to the district. Following this announcement the RECORD had a conversation.

Le Roux is currently the principal of Laerskook President Steyn and will continue his duties as principal of the school while also working as the administrator of Glenview Primary.

“It is the most important thing that the children receive the right, necessary and effective education,” said le Roux about his work at Glenview Primary. “Every child should be granted the opportunities they deserve.”

Le Roux was adamant that it is not his intention to go to the school and start changing things left and right. He said his position is to assist the school, solving the problems they are experiencing at the moment.

“I appeal to the parents to put their faith back in the staff at the school,” said le Roux to the parents of Glenview. “A school stands on three legs that have to work together: the children, the staff and the parents.”

He hopes parents will assist teachers in getting everything back on track and asked them not to dig up old bones.

“If parents have any problems they are welcome to contact me,” said le Roux. “I would rather work together to solve problems.”

Le Roux has stated he has faith in his support at President Steyn, both from his deputies and the staff, that they will continue to do excellent work and ensure the smooth running of the school in times when he is absent.

It is also his hope that through working with the deputies and staff at Glenview Primary he can contribute to restoring unity among the staff.

Le Roux assured the RECORD he will show the same dedication to the children, school and extramural activities at Glenview Primary as he does at his own school.
