Alberton SAPS warns community to be careful when locking their cars
Captain Manare Ramotshela advises the community to physically double check that the car is locked before they leave.
ALBERTON SAPS would like to advise the community to be careful when locking their cars.
They warn the community to be on alert and exercise caution as criminals are using different methods to steal your car. According to the SAPS, syndicates in the area have been using a jammer device to stop cars from locking.
“When you lock your vehicle using your remote the syndicates simultaneously press the jammer and your vehicle is left unlocked and your belongings vulnerable to looting as soon as you leave,” said Alberton SAPS spokesperson Capt Manare Ramotshela.
He advises the community to physically double check that the car is locked before they leave.
“Should your vehicle not be locked you are advised to continue trying to lock it and leave only after you have affirmed it is locked,” said Ramotshela.
