A suspect, driver of a minibus taxi, has been arrested on the N12 East highway, close to the Glen Shopping Centre.
The arrest came about after receiving information from Ekhurhuleni Metro Police SWAT Unit.
A lookout was radioed through to JHB Flying Squad.
The suspected vehicle was pulled off the highway and the driver arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm.
Passengers were released from the vehicle.
