A RAM delivery vehicle with a mixed load of valuables which included cellphones was hijacked by an unknown number of men on March 26.
The driver was left on the scene but the passenger taken along in the hijacked vehicle. The hijacking took place around 10.09am. The EMPD SWAT members were alerted by RAM security and provided with the GPS coordinates of the vehicle’s movements. At around 10.45am the vehicle was located in Langa Street at Roodekop in the Alberton area. The valuable cargo was missing and the passenger was found unharmed. The case of hijacking and theft of cargo was registered at Elsburg Police Station. Investigations are underway to apprehend the perpetrators of the crime.
