Truck driver dies in South Crest

According to the owner of the truck, who wishes to remain anonymous, the truck was being washed across the street at Tulisa Park when it started rolling forward.

A MAN in his early 30s died after a truck that he tried to stop from moving drove over him.

This happened on March 19 in Paul Kruger Street in South Crest.

According to the owner of the truck, who wishes to remain anonymous, the truck was being washed across the street at Tulisa Park when it started rolling forward.

“The driver was not in the truck when it began to move. He then tried to stop the truck, but the truck drove over him and hit the boundary wall of a town house in Riverside Village in Paul Kruger St where it came to a stop,” said the owner of the truck.

The driver died on impact.

The RECORD also spoke to the owner of the town house in Riverside Village, who also wishes to remain anonymous. He said that they are still waiting for their insurance to pay out and to fix everything.

“An assessor from the insurance was here and said that there is a lot of damage and we are still awaiting feedback.”

“We would like to say thank you to Fox Security for their quick assistance. Also, thank you to the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) officers and all the other people who helped on that day,” said the town house owner.

The deceased was buried on March 23.

DAMAGE: The town house owner is still waiting for his insurance to fix the damage.
