BREAKING NEWS: Two security guards critically wounded in Griffiths Road heist (video)

A medic on scene described it as "chaotic."

Two security guards have been shot and critically wounded in an armed robbery on Griffiths Road in Jet Park earlier today.

The R21 had been closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area, said William Ntladi, spokesperson for Ekurhuleni emergency services.

He said the guards had been transported to a private hospital in Benoni.

According to Gerald Groenewald, a Sec Pros Security member, a local medic was on the scene and described the situation as “chaotic”.

According to information from the scene up to five suspects could have been involved in heist involving a private security company.
