Two arrested in New Redruth on theft charges

Thieves caught while intruding in New Redruth.

TWO unidentified male intruders were arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) after an officer on duty noticed them trying to cut through a fence and notified the SOG reaction unit.

The unsuccessful intrusion took place on January 20 at 3pm in New Redruth, Alberton, when the suspects tried to remove an extension stepladder and scaffolding from the premises.

“SAPS was called to the scene and they were arrested and taken to Alberton Police Station for theft charges,” said Lambrechts du Toit from SOG.
