How you can help the Epic Foundation

There’s a wide variety of ways to support the Epic Foundation.

THE Epic Foundation, a non-profit organisation with a vision to empower victims of rape and abuse, can always do with more helping hands. If you’re looking to make a positive impact in the community, there’s a wide variety of ways to support the Epic Foundation.

Epic Foundation was founded in 2013 by Alta McMaster. After having experienced various traumas in her own life, Alta now has a deep understanding of how lonely and helpless one can feel if no-one reaches out to help. This understanding encouraged her to be that helping hand, through assisting and empowering survivors of trauma.

Today, there are so many ways in which you can help this organisation – it does not have to be with money. Alta shared how community members can lend a helping hand.

• Volunteering

Help is always needed with the Comfort Pack and Fairy Godmother projects – help collect, sort or contribute towards the needed items.

When Epic Foundation has promotion stalls at an event, they could also use people who will tend these stalls and help promote it.

• Free counselling and legal advice

If you’re a fully qualified, registered counsellor or attorney/lawyer who can offer free counselling or legal advice to survivors of rape and abuse, it will be very helpful for Epic Foundation in making a positive impact on these survivors’ lives.

• Monetary donations

If it’s in your means, you can make monetary donations of any amount to Epic Foundation, FNB, branch number 250 655, business account number 6241 3013 484 and send proof of your payment to info@epicfoundation.org.za.

You can also sign a monthly debit order of R100 towards the Comfort Pack Project.

• Non-monetary donations

For those who prefer donating items instead of money, it will mean a lot to Epic Foundation if you support their charity shop, Fairy Godmother and/or Comfort Pack projects with useful donations.

For the charity shop, you can donate any second-hand items that someone else might want to buy, such as art, clothes, ornaments, furniture, books, etcetera.

• Fairy Godmother Project

The following items are always welcome:

· For girls: Dresses (size 38 and up), purses, jewellery and shoes.

· For boys: Suits (sizes 28, 30 and 32), bowties, cufflinks and shoes.

• Honey Fashion Accessories

Order beautiful jewellery through the Epic Foundation, and the commission they make will go towards supporting survivors of rape and abuse.

You can also become a Honey sales representative and sell the jewellery to other people yourself. The commission you make will also go towards helping the abovementioned survivors.
