PICTURES: Syndicate out to rob cafes

THERE is a syndicate of six targeting small cafes in the Alberton area.

GETAWAY VEHICLE This is the white vehicle the suspects drive in.

Tyrone van der Merwe, sales director from CPS Security, said that six males driving a white Toyota Corolla with registration, HL 43 SD GP, are allegedly robbing small cafés.

ROBBER: Also a suspect who is a part of the syndicate.

Their modus operandi is to enter cafes one at a time while one waits in the vehicle parked outside. They all act casually until all of them are inside and then seize the opportunity to rob the premises at gunpoint.

WANTED: Another of the suspects caught on CCTV footages.

“Shop owners must be vigilant and careful. The suspects are positively armed,” he said.
