Melonique’s murder suspect doesn’t get bail

Adrian van Wyk remains in custody with no bail given.

ADRIAN van Wyk, the man accused of murdering Melonique Klassen in March, appeared in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court for an urgent bail application on September 14.

The case has been referred to the Johannesburg High Court. During proceedings on September 14, van Wyk withdrew his application for bail. No further bail applications will be heard by the court and he remains in custody pending completion of the trial.

Van Wyk is expected to appear in court on October 22 for confirmation of the case being moved to the High Court.
