Vehicle thief arrested in Alberton North

He was handed over to Alberton SAPS and will remain in custody.

A VEHICLE thief was arrested on September 7 in Van Riebeeck Avenue in Alberton North.

Fox Security received information from a client about someone attempting to break into a vehicle in Van Riebeeck Avenue. Tactical units responded swiftly. The client gave a full description of the vehicle and the suspect.

The security company’s tactical units spotted the vehicle and when they approached it they noticed the suspect behind the wheel already attempting to leave with the vehicle. The vehicle was blocked in and the suspect jumped out and ran down Van Riebeeck Avenue.

FOUND: Implements used to break into vehicles were found in the suspect’s possession.

Officers gave chase and apprehended the suspect close to Alberton Pharmacy.

The suspect was found to have vehicle break-in implements in his possession. He was handed over to Alberton SAPS and will remain in custody.
