THE Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Public Order Policing Task Team members, together with Germiston SAPS Crime Intelligence officers, arrested three security officers in Xaba Street in Thokoza.
The arrests and recovery of the firearms and ammunition took place on August 21 in the early evening.
Officers were acting on information received from a concerned member of the Thokoza community. All three firearms were found loaded and with the serial numbers filed off.
The trio was detained at Thokoza Police Station on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
They are expected to appear in the Palmridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
