Volunteers at Ligstad plays important role in community

Volunteers, the backbone of Ligstad in service delivery.

AS a NPC focussing on pro-active community development, Ligstad renders services to children and seniors within the community.

Seeing that it is an aim of Ligstad to empower the community by involving its members in service delivery in the community, the volunteers play a huge role within Ligstad’s structure.

Volunteers assist primary school children in the aftercare with homework and when needed assist with supervision during play time.

Volunteers are also assisting in the services rendered to the seniors in the community on various practical levels. They also make themselves available as their lives and schedules allow and Ligstad assign responsibilities according to their availability.

The volunteers testify that it is very rewarding to serve as a volunteer and that they miss all the clients they are involved with whenever they take a break from their duties for a period of time.

Should you want to enquire about getting involved as a volunteer at Ligstad you can contact Alida Jooste at 011 907 0517 or 079 693 3666 during office hours Mondays to Fridays or via email at alida.jooste@ligstad.co.za .
