Swartkoppies Road’s eastbound lane going from Alberton toward Rietvlei has been closed between Hennie Alberts Street and Overbury Street.
The road has been closed to allow for work to be done to the footbridge that crosses Swartkoppies Road. A lane has been opened on the opposite of the road allowing a single lane of cars to get past.
EMPD officers on the scene estimate that the work on the bridge will continue past 4pm. For this reason, if at all possible please avoid Swartkoppies Road to ease potential congestion on the road.
