Royal Schools visits Stepping Stone Hospice & Care Services

“These young souls impressed me beyond words. They displayed passion combined with heaps of empathy when they met our patients.” - Tersia Burger

MANDELA Day 2018 brought with it some very special moments at Stepping Stone Hospice & Care Services in Alberton.

They received a visit from the Grade 12 class of the Royal Schools in Albertsdal who not only elected to clean the vegetable patch where the hospice’s new extension is soon to be erected, but also met with some of their patients in the In-patient Unit, listening intently to the journeys the patients are on and giving hugs where needed.

Tersia Burger, CEO at Stepping Stone Hospice said, “These young souls impressed me beyond words. They got stuck into the hard work of cleaning the garden with so much optimism and passion, and they displayed that same passion combined with heaps of empathy when they met our patients. Mandela would have been proud!”
