A DOCTOR and his patients were held at gunpoint, robbed and assaulted in a business robbery in Ridgeway on July 18.

Booysens Police communication officer Captain Lorraine van Emmerik confirmed the incident.

“The complainant alleges that he was busy in his office in Rifle Range Road when two unknown males entered his office.

“One suspect was armed with a firearm and informed the complainant to lie down on the floor. The complainant and the customers in the office were searched and their valuables were taken. The complainant was assaulted and tied up in his office. The suspects left. The complainant then shouted for help and was assisted by the receptionist and one of the patients in his office. It was later discovered that there were four suspects. A docket of business robbery has been opened by SAPS Booysens and is been investigated,” she said.

One Facebook user said: The doctor was robbed and beaten at his practice; patients waiting were robbed of all valuables. This was in Rifle Range Road. He had the medics patch him up so he could see to all his patients throughout the day. That folk is one very dedicated doctor. If I may ask that if we could all in whatever way show our love and support, be it with flowers, a card, a chocolate bar but let him know we care. Thank you to all.

Booysens Police can be contacted on 011 433 5282 with any information about the robbery.
