A&H Engineering celebrates and mourns

Co-founder Henry John Lynch sadly died.

FOR A&H Engineering and Manufacturing it is a bitter-sweet time as they celebrated 40 years of business in June, but also mourn the loss of the company owner, Henry John Lynch.

In June 1978, Henry and his father-in-law, Arthur Daw, established A&H Engineering and Manufacturing. Unfortunately, a few years later in 1984, Arthur died. Henry continued with the general engineering business, designing and manufacturing machines to customers’ specifications.

A&H has been operating from Arnold Street in Alrode for all these years and have built countless machines for various industries. In 1998, they produced the world’s first double-head candle extruder. It was one of the proudest achievements for Henry and his team.

At the age of 72, Henry sadly died on March 28 this year after a short illness.

“He was a truly remarkable man,” said his daughter, Michelle van Wyk, with deep sadness. “He is deeply mourned by his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, friends and staff. He will forever be profoundly loved and missed by us all.”

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff, customers and suppliers of A&H for all their support shown during this difficult time.
